iPhone Duo AppsWhat Apple announced
Apple says iPhone Duo supports two apps side by side in Split View, saved app pairs and two Safari windows. Those are built-in features described in the September 9 launch announcement.
The same release names Netflix, Zoom, Slack and Detail as examples of apps adapted for the device. Our app watchlist links each announcement and separates it from apps whose Duo support we have not verified.
Choose a task, then check the apps
Reading a source while taking notes is a useful example of side-by-side work. So is checking a calendar while preparing a meeting document. These are workflows to evaluate, rather than a promise about a particular app version.
Before relying on an app pair, check whether each app preserves the work in progress when the available space changes. Look at what happens when the keyboard appears, whether important controls remain visible, and whether a document stays at the same place.
